Comfort care assures that negative symptoms like pain, nausea, shortness of breath and itching are kept to a minimum for the patient allowing a much easier transition. Hospice nurses will visit the hospice patients 2 to 3 times per week, and sometimes as often as daily or 2times per day to intervene as necessary to manage the negative symptoms.
