Obstetrics Specialty Program
Program Goals:
Increase pregnancy outcomes and cost savings by increasing birth weights, increasing gestation age at delivery, and reducing nursery/
antepartum days.
Promote client compliance in care
Educate community about high risk pregnancy
Provide a working environment for our employees which stimulates growth and conduct conducive to the provision of excellent patient care
Services Provided Include:
24 hour support from OB trained nurses
Pre-term labor management
Hypertension management
Hyperemesis therapy
Hydration therapy
Antiemetic therapy
Diabetes management
Post partum assessments and teaching
Antibiotic therapy
Well mother/baby program
Breast feeding education
Staff Qualification:
The OB Specialty members have a minimum of 2 years experience in Labor and Delivery with Home Care experience preferred. The nurse must pass both written and practical OB specific competency evaluations, including strip interpretation, OB assessments, and non-stress test monitoring prior to joining the team.
