Progressive Services

Back to ServicesRehabilitation

Progressive’s Rehabilitation Program is guided by therapists who are dedicated to their patients. Care plans target the emotional, physical and spiritual needs of each client with a strong emphasis on positive outcomes and goals.

Physical Therapy

Progressive’s team of physical therapists are professionals with extensive clinical experience. They examine, diagnose and prevent or treat conditions that limit the body’s ability to move and function in daily life.

Orthopedic Post Surgical Rehab

Therapy can be initiated prior to surgery in order to help speed up the recovery process following surgery. Therapy after a knee, back, hip or shoulder surgery will result in a better range of motion, improved flexibility, increased strength, gait/walking progress and increased function.

Balance and Falls Program

Falls are not an inevitable result of aging. When identified early and properly treated, the risk of falling can be reduced, allowing people to continue with their everyday activities. Still, more than 90 percent of hip fractures are the result of older patients falling.

We can be especially helpful to those who have suffered a stroke or hip fracture, have osteoporosis, experienced a recent change in mental status or are taking medication that causes dizziness or weakness.

Our Fall Prevention Program includes:

  • Fall risk evaluation of patients who have not fallen
  • Balance and mobility treatment programs
  • Gait training and stair management
  • Instruction on personal care and light housekeeping
  • Home safety assessment and durable medical equipment recommendations
  • Four to eight weeks of treatment by licensed, on-staff therapists
  • Goal of improving function, safety, strength and endurance

Lymph-edema

Lymph-edema occurs when the normal drainage of fluids is disrupted by blockage caused by infection, cancer and scar tissue. In the early stages, the swelling is mild. Compression garments, exercise and elevation of the affected limb can be effective, but for severe swelling, the physical therapist will use a complete decongestive therapy using manual lymphatic drainage. This feels like a light form of massage to improve the flow of lymph, followed by compression bandaging to reduce swelling.
